Beat Winter Hair Woes

Winter weather does awful things to your hair, but there are some measures you can take to help you beat the winter hair woes.

One of the worst winter hair problems is static electricity. Dry heat from your furnace, and cold windy weather leach the moisture right out of your hair, and leave you with crispy, crackling hair that flies up like you had your finger in a light socket. To beat this winter hair nuisance, lock in your moisturizing conditioner by adding a light misting of Fresh Concepts Whey Better Leave-In Conditioner.

When cold weather comes, many people delay getting their hair trimmed on a regular basis. As your hair grows, the ends tend to become frayed and brittle. To repair ragged winter hair, see your stylist and get trims every 6-8 weeks to stay in tip top condition.

Winter is not the best time to chemically treat your hair. Harsh perms and peroxide based colorants only exacerbate dry winter hair troubles. Have your perm or coloring done in the fall, and if you must refresh your color in the winter, avoid permanent coloring and go with a less harsh temporary coloring product. Your winter hair problems will be far less noticeable.

Winter hair problems plague all of us from time to time, no matter what our hair texture is. By choosing salon quality hair care products, avoiding excessive blow drying and ironing, and keeping up with your trims, you will be able to beat those winter hair problems before they beat you.
