The last thing on earth that you should have to worry about when your swimming in the pool is your blonde locks turning into green hair. Even though the pool is soothing and very inviting, you may want to give another thought to what it may be doing to your vulnerable hair. For many years, people have been warning blondes that they should not go into the pool because the chlorine will give them a head of green hair. Is there really any truth to this threat? Actually, what many people are unaware of is that it is not chlorine that can turn blonde hair into green hair. What can really give blondes a tinge of green to their hair is copper. Where is the copper coming from, you ask? Many of the chemicals that are put into your pool contain an algae-fighting agent. These algae killers that can be added to your pool water usually contain a fair amount of copper as the active ingredient. Some pools will even have copper in them because of some of the parts that are used in the heating mechanisms being made out of copper. Anyone who is going to be swimming in a pool may want to think about using a swim cap on a regular basis. Even if you do not have blonde hair, this is the best way that you can protect your hair, no matter what the color, from some of the more damaging chemicals that can be found in pools. If you do happen to have a green tint to your hair as a result from pool water, you can find certain professional hair care products to help you restore your color. What these products do is act as an anti-oxidant to counter act the oxidation process that occurred in the pool to turn your beautiful blonde hair into green hair in the first place.

Next up, you are going to want to get a neutral polish for your base color. Some of these neutral polishes can come in different shades including peach, beige and possibly pink. Make sure you get the white polish for your nail tips and then you may even want to think about buying some of the French manicure guides so that you can easily paint the tips without any mishaps. Completely shape, file and tend to your nails. Once you get them to the shape that you want, you can go ahead and apply the base/top coat. Apply your white French manicure tips, either with a guide, or without if you have a steady hand, then let dry and apply a coat or two of your neutral polish. Then, you are free to finish up your French manicure with another layer of your OPI Start to Finish.
